Why do you need high-temperature adhesive tape on solar photovoltaic?
In the field of solar photovoltaic, high temperature adhesive tape plays many important roles:
First, the application in the process of battery welding
fixation
In the production process of solar cells, it is necessary to weld the cells to form a battery string. High-temperature adhesive tape can be used to temporarily fix battery cells. Because during the welding operation, the battery piece needs to be kept in an accurate position to avoid moving, otherwise it may lead to poor welding, such as virtual welding and short circuit. The viscosity of high-temperature adhesive tape can resist slight vibration and displacement in the welding process to a certain extent, and ensure the welding accuracy between battery pieces.
depollution
Chemicals such as flux will be used in the welding process. High-temperature adhesive tape can play an isolation role and prevent substances such as flux from splashing on the non-welding area of the battery chip. For example, if the flux is contaminated on the power generation surface of the battery, it may corrode the material on the surface of the battery or affect its optical performance, reducing the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the battery. The high temperature adhesive tape can effectively block these substances and protect the integrity of the battery surface.
High temperature resistance ensures welding quality
Solar cell welding usually adopts high-temperature welding technology, such as infrared welding, and the welding temperature may reach several hundred degrees. Ordinary tape will lose its viscosity, deform or even burn in such a high temperature environment, while high temperature tape can withstand higher temperatures (generally 180℃-260℃ or even higher). In the high-temperature welding environment, it can still maintain good viscosity and stability, and ensure the fixing effect of the battery during the welding process, thus ensuring the welding quality.
Second, the application of photovoltaic module packaging process
Edge seal
In the packaging process of photovoltaic modules, high temperature adhesive tape can be used to seal the edges of modules. If the edge of the module is not well sealed, external impurities such as water vapor and dust will easily enter the module. The high-temperature adhesive tape can be closely attached to the edge of the component to prevent water vapor from penetrating. Because water vapor enters the inside of the module, it will lead to the performance degradation of the battery chip and packaging materials. For example, the EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) material for packaging will age and yellow, which will reduce its light transmittance, and then affect the light absorption of the battery, and finally reduce the power generation efficiency of the whole photovoltaic module.
Material bonding aid
Photovoltaic module is composed of multiple layers of materials, including battery sheet, EVA, backplane and so on. In the process of laminating these materials, high temperature adhesive tape can assist the positioning and initial fixation between materials. It can keep the relative position of different materials accurate before entering the laminator, and avoid dislocation between materials. In this way, in the lamination process, the materials can be better combined to ensure the structural integrity and photoelectric performance of the module.
